Your blog is you, so it should echo your voice and demonstrate who you are and what you believe in. Your blog and your business may not sound the same, and they shouldn’t. They should sound like you. When you are blogging, be honest, be vulnerable, and fire up your readers with your passion. Remember, authenticity will garner far more readers than just plopping out rote posts because it is expected of you.
- You’re a Loner
Bloggers are loners, most of them anyway, like Pee-Wee Herman or serial killers. Bloggers are used to operating in non-reactive lands, but you don’t have to settle for it. You can change that right now, by simply collaborating with someone. Engaging is an act of creative agitation. It is the constant give-and-take manner of collaboration which gets you batting back new ideas and getting reactions from your readers. Besides, when other people write for your blog, you add more content that you didn’t really have to work on yourself. Another great tip to improving blog traffic is to play nice with the other kids by leaving a comment on their blogs.
- You’re Not on the Social Medias!
Be sure to share each new blog post on your social media accounts. If you frequently cultivate your social networks and share great content, your social media networks can become your top sources of traffic. Also, include social sharing buttons on all of your blog posts, making it easier for your readers to spread the word. - You’re Not Strategic
The most successful blogs are those which meet a specific need. Find out what your audience loves and are interested in. Blogging content nowadays falls broadly under two categories, either they are useful and educational or funny and cool. - Your Blog isn’t Optimized
